Come on into the Steel Magnolia a beautiful lakefront home, cozily tucked in a deep cove on the south end of Toledo Bend! The lake and sunset views from this home are so magnificent you will feel like you are on the inside of a painting.
You will have all the amenities of home in this fully furnished cottage style house with charming decor. The kitchen-dining-family room area is an open floor plan that has stunning panoramic views from the wall-to-wall windows on the back of the home. The family room has a wood-burning fireplace with a large leather sofa-sleeper (full), a sleeper-loveseat (twin) and a leather recliner that is great for naps! Both master suites have comfortable queen beds. The farm style dining table seats eight people, and there is also kitchen bar area that is great for drinks and snacks. The kitchen is fully stocked and has brand new stainless appliances and all of the cooking and eating utensils you will need. The home has three flat screen TVs with cable and high speed WIFI.
The second-level outdoor deck has plenty of seating, a stainless steel grill (gas not provided), and a perfect view - where cooking and entertaining can be enjoyed by all, day or night. The lakefront wharf has boat tie-ups and bumpers and two Adirondack chairs to sit and catch fish or just to enjoy the views of the beautiful Toledo Bend Lake. Additionally, the house comes with kayaks and a canoe – which are perfect for cooling off in the lake on a hot day.
While everyone can catch loads of fish right off the back dock, the whole family can also enjoy the peaceful serenity of the landscape surrounding this home, making it a vacation spot that everyone will enjoy. You may even get to meet Max, the friendly neighborhood dog, who occasionally wanders over to say hi or to quietly bask in the sun on the dock.
There are two boat launches within three miles of the house with launch fees between $5-10. Our dock can accommodate up to three boats that can be left overnight unless there is inclement weather.
If you enjoy golf or a nice meal out, the Cypress Bend Resort and Golf Course is a quick 20-minute drive away. This is a world-class golf course with incredible views of the lake, spa, and other amenities. You can find the best burger in all of LA at Curtis’s Grocery & Deli just 10 minutes down the road, they also have snacks/bait/beer/ice/gas etc. Campers and outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy the South Toledo Bend State Park which is only 14 miles away.
***Yes, you may use the grills, one is propane, and the other is charcoal (we do not provide the gas or charcoal). We have a regular drip coffee pot as well as a Keurig. We do not provide coffee or K-Cups. ***
Other things to note
**Please Note: The caretaker Kevin, an Active Duty Military Service Member, lives on the property in the downstairs apartment (separate entry/exit) when he’s not working out in the field at nearby Fort Polk. He’s there some weekends, but don’t worry, you’ll only see him if you need anything. He’s super handy and can fix or build anything and is an all-around really great guy! This is a beautiful place that deserves to be shared with others, it’s simply not fair of us to leave it all alone and empty when we can’t be there! ***
