Pleasant Hill Toledo Bend Pleasant Hill is well known to Civil War buffs due to its prominence in the war. It was the site of the last Confederate victory. Each April, a re-enactment of the Battle of Pleasant Hill is staged, with thousands of visitors flocking to the site to relive a piece of Louisiana history. The Battle is held every year the weekend closest to April 9, the day the actual battle took place during the Civil War.
