Village of Fisher The picturesque sawmill Village of Fisher still reflects the nostalgic past of a by-gone era and gives visitors the feeling of stepping back in time.

Having built what later became the Village of Fisher in 1889, Louisiana Longleaf Lumber Company (4-L) retained ownership of the village and all its structures/dwellings until 1966. The town was sold to Boise Cascade and Boise in turn, sold the homes to the residents and the general public.

The Company buildings that have survived are some of the finest examples to be found of the lumber industry's own handiwork.

The Village is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Located 6 miles south of Many, Louisiana on Hwy 171.

The Town's history is celebrated the 3rd weekend in May with the Fisher Sawmill Days Festival.
