Toledo Bend Lake Country is conveniently located in close proximity to cities, communities and sites that make for great "day trips." Visits to neighboring communities such as Natchitoches, the oldest settlement in the Louisiana purchase; Logansport; Hemphill, Texas; and Milam, Texas are among these day trips. Also, an antiquing trail stretching 30 miles west and north of Toledo Bend can be quite an experience; and a flora trail extending within 30 miles east and south of Toledo Bend can be particularly pleasurable for the avid nature enthusiasts.

Natchitoches. Features antiquing and other shopping experiences, as well as the historic Cane River and lots of plantations along Hwy. 1 in Natchitoches Parish.

Logansport. On Toledo Bend Lake's most northern end, features antique shopping.

Milam/Nethery's. Features the historic Gaines-Oliphant House, and antiquing at C.E. Nethery's.

Hemphill. In East Texas, just a few miles from Toledo Bend.
