Florien Freestate The Florien Freestate Festival, aka Sabine Free State Festival, is held annually the first weekend in November in the southern Sabine Parish Village of Florien.

Celebrate the period in Western Louisiana's history when this region was declared neutral ground pending settlement of a dispute between Spain and the U.S.

Arts & crafts, games, parade, treasure hunt, quilt demonstrations, western shoot-outs, music and local talent, bull rides, kids' games and rides, and more are part of this downhome fun festival.

This year's event will be held November 5-7, 2010
