Horseback Riding

Kisatchie National Forest - Horseback riding opportunities on forest roads and old logging trails are plentiful, forest wide. In addition, there are approximately 10 miles of developed trail available for riding.

The Ahtus Melder Equestrian Camp is available for camping with horses.

Sabine National Forest- The 12,369-acre Indian Mounds Wilderness Area has been designated by the U.S. Congress as an area set aside to allow the Earth's natural processes to shape and influence the area. Hunting, horseback riding, and hiking are allowed. Bicycles or other wheeled vehicles and mechanized and motorized equipment are not allowed. For more information call (409) 625-1940.
